Dining Options
Our team are all great cooks, and are happy to provide you with breakfast, lunch and dinner if you're staying in the lodge or the villa and that's what you've booked in for. All our properties also have fully equipped kitchens, so you're welcome to shop and cook for yourselves. But we do have lots of fantastic eateries on Rote now, and it's fun to get out and about and sample what's on offer. Below is a list of our favourites:
81 Palms
Amazing high-end food in beautiful surroundings from a top Spanish chef. Great for sunset cocktails before dinner too
The Pasar
Open from breakfast through to dinner, The Pasar is your go-to for the best coffee in town. They also offer amazing croissant and other freshly made pastries and bread daily, as well as great burgers, cheese, salami baguettes and salads. Thursday night is burger night, when all burgers are half-price.
Boa Gardens
Beautiful Cindy makes the best local food, including, hands down the tastiest beef rendang, really good sashimi and delicious prawns.By reservation only: +62 812 4235 2255.
Mia's warung
Good local food, cooked to order (so it's not super speedy), Mia's is our go-to for a weekend lunch of gado-gado or mie goreng.
Queenie's Cafe
Open all day serving pasta dishes, salads and local cuisine. BBQ chicken on a Sunday night is pretty good.
Narrow
Also fairly close to the lodge, Narrow has a lovely roof top bar which is nice for a sunset drink. They offer a variety of western and local food. Local food is better in my opinion. Christina and Derek are a lovely couple who work super hard. Be ready to be regaled by Derek and his crazy life stories!
Becky Boo's
Tasty pizzas, wraps, burgers, salads, pastas and local dishes served in a relaxed and family-friendly environment.
FishBones
The best value for money meal around. Fishbones serves fantastic local food as well as pizzas and burgers. They also make great sourdough bread. Open for lunch and dinner.
Indika
Open from early morning until 5pm, this is a great little hang out and is a popular spot work from while grabbing a bite. Serving good quality western and local food, as well as sweet treats like muffins and seriously good banana bread.
Warung Jawa
Great value, tasty Padang-style local food. They also offer cooked to order dishes from their special's menu. You can get a good feed here for as little as 30,000IDR.
Sagarika
Good quality Indonesian food with slightly different flavors due to their Jakartan heritage. Affordable and tasty, with a nice laid back atmosphere. Only a few minutes drive from the lodge. I reccommend the crab noodle curry and the nasi goreng ikan. They have an amazing shelf full of books to peruse as well.
